Facilities

Animal Research Facilities:

RTI leases several cattle facilities that include housing pens, working areas, processing tubs, and head catches. These facilities are isolated from other animals by a minimum distance of 0.5 miles.

RTI owns a Double L nursery with two rooms and 12- 4 x 4 pens per room. Each pen has its own feed and watering system, if needed. The building is located in a remote area allowing for increased biosecurity.

RTI leases 3 swine confinement units. Two units are farrow-to-finish operations and one is a grower-finisher unit. These facilities are used solely by RTI and are isolated from neighboring swine facilities.

In House Laboratory:

RTI's laboratory performs multiple virology and bacteriology assays that include, but are not limited to, PRRSV, BVD and IBR virus isolation and bacterial isolation and identification. The laboratory is also capable of doing hematology analysis for various animal species.

RTI's laboratory services include: isolation and identification of bacterial and viral pathogens to assess vaccine efficacy, immunological analysis to determine the effect of vaccination or nutritional supplementation on immune function, and in vitro laboratory assays to determine the antibacterial or antiviral effect of test articles.
